Stay Loose!! Sampler now online...

A quick head's up, I finally got around to posting a 20 min sampler for last year's limited release Stay Loose!! mix. Due to a prior commitment and months of printer problems, I was unable to offer this mix to the public, but enough time has passed now, this baby should get out to the rest of you. :)

This is an interesting CD, as it was made right around the time I was starting to switch up my style and play a lot more old, vintage tracks in my mixes. The sampler is mostly hip hop, but the rest of the mix dives into other genres along the soul, funk and disco lines, plus some choice samples spread through out.

Progress is being made on the next mix, I'm finalizing the track list and hopefully I'll do disc one this weekend. Yea, that's right. This puppy's going to be a double album. :)

Update 2006-05-22: I just noticed that the mp3 download for the Stay Loose!! sampler was busted, while the stream link was working fine. Download has been fixed!

DJ Shagz Gig Schedule: now in iCal!

So along the lines of my last post, I was mucking around with the Google Calendar and I figured out a way to create a shared calendar for all my gigs. So if you add this URL to your calendar application of choice, my gigs will show up in your calendar and will be automatically updated whenever I update my own calendar.

The process for actually adding this calendar to your application of choice will vary depending on what you're using. Contact me if you're having problems and maybe we can sort it out. Heck, contact me if you're NOT having problems and figured it out right away, and let me know if you find this at all useful in anyway. I'll keep it updated if enough people think it's worth it.

The least that I'll do is update the Gig module (located on the right hand side of the news in the current design) so that it has "Add to my calendar" links, to quickly and easily add the details on upcoming gigs into your scheduling app.

Man, this is so geeky... :)

PS - if you're already using Google for your calendar, just type "Shagz" in the "Search Public Calendars" box and my calendar should appear in the list.

And thanks to everybody who came out last night to the Savoy to see Methodology, Shad 'n myself do it up on "Great Friday" as my one friend put it. :) Definitely a good time for all involved. Now I need some sleep! :)

Top Ten Update, 4 days to Methodology/Shad show...

I'm much too tired to say anything intelligible right now, but the Top Ten has been updated and just a reminder about the Shad and Methodology show this friday! I was just at the Savoy space this evening, and it's *very* swanky. :) Going to be a good place to spin in...and I just got a dope new track today, #2 there in the Top Ten: a mad, mad funk cover of Radiohead's "Just". It's FANtastic!!
